Hong Kong University

As a HKU student, my aim is to encourage students to appreciate being inside their classroom walls and unlock their potential! Outside of school, I’m into travelling, bouldering, and reading, as well as trying to get into dance. As peculiar as it sounds, I’ve always loved school. Sorting my notes and solving problems excited me, and I’d be confused as to why my peers didn’t feel the same. I realise that one’s self-confidence and approach to academics is just as important, if not more, than their grade. I’m a big supporter of gaining experiences and live by the mantra to try whatever interests you.

The student always comes first! I think it’s important to stick with what works with them rather than forcing a study technique they don’t resonate with. I prioritise getting to know their study strengths and seeing how we can improve them. Of course, one of my favourites is active recall. I like to do this by testing each other with verbal and written questions, so students can go through the same process they’ll encounter in an exam but in a relaxed environment with me.

Tutoring Experience

I have tutoring experience with primary school students (age 8-11) as well as mentoring high school peers. For A-Level Religious Studies, I was award the First in Hong Kong prize because of my effective study techniques and understanding of the syllabus. I also self-studied A-Level Mathematics and scored a grade of A*, proving my discipline and reliability. As a contract ambassador for Goodnotes, I value educational experiences and using digital tools to remain relevant in this day and age. I understand how the right approaches can significantly improve both one’s performance and attitude towards learning.
