Hi! My name is Joie Lu and I'm a rising sophomore at Harvard University studying Environmental Science and Economics. I'm interested in combining social science with qualitative and quantitative data points and love learning about the different market dynamics of private environmental forces. I have two younger brothers, one who is 17 years old and one who is 8 years old, and a new puppy. In my free time, I love cooking or baking all kinds of cuisines and will always find time to go to a cafe and read a new science fiction book!

My tutoring approach is very personalized to each student. I work closely with individual students to identify pain points in their current studying/preparation methods and come up with solutions to help them address their needs. I enjoy having checkpoints throughout the tutoring process to ensure progress is being made and change my tutoring style accordingly.

Tutoring Experience
I have 4+ years of tutoring across a variety of subjects across a variety of ages. I have worked with high school students on math topics including precalculus, calculus, and multivariable calculus. I have also worked with 4th graders to teach them the basics of coding -- designing my own 10 week tutoring plan to allow for personalized projects. I scored a 1570 on the SAT, 800 math and 770 reading. In addition, I also worked closely with my 17 year old brother on his SAT preparation, earning him a 1570 as well.
